Last time I visited Beijing was in June 2007 and back then, it was the pre-olympics period and the experience was ok.
Thus, I decided to visit Beijing once more in August 2009 and the following posts are some pictures that I took along the way. There's actually more pictures in my folders but honestly posting them all up is abit impossible.. I'll just post these at the moment, I will probably update again during the weekends, so stay tuned..

Temple of Heaven

The temple of heaven is the place where the emperors will come and pray to the heavens for blessings. Olden times pple are pretty pantang.. So since the temple of heaven is the place where they pray to the gods, naturally, the emperor's place cannot be bigger than this place. Hence, the forbidden city is actually a little bit smaller in area compared to the temple of heaven.
The temple of heaven today is more of a gathering place for the ah peks and ah mas to go there play chatek and dance.
Summer Palace

I must apologise for not really touring this place. Simply because I have valid reasons. The summer palace is the place where Ci Xi will go and eat snake during the summer and I tell you, this place is so big because in its centre is Kunming Lake. So it is literally impossible to walk the entire park given the tight schedule. Besides that, each and every single building needs additional moolah to walk in. Business minded pple.

The last time I was at the Forbidden City, it was undergoing extensive repair and touch up in preparation for the olympics. I thought I could have a better tour of this place upon my return in 2009.. but honestly, my desire to stroll this wonderful place was quenched by the number of visitors.. TOO MANY PPLE IN THE PLACE LAH.

Imperial garden. The place where the ge ge's will play? I think so..
Qian Qing Men - I think its where Emperor holds court.
humans..
humans....
humans...
every shot got humans can?
Dont be fooled - its empty at the compound because its freaking hot!
Before you go to Forbidden city, you can see uncle Mao's portrait. I think in 2007, some clowns threw a molotov cocktail and set his chin ablazed.

The great wall has always been my childhood fantasy since young. I've always wanted to visit it especially reading so much from textbooks. I did fulfil that dream in 2007 and I'm glad I'm able to do that once more in 2009.

But what a shock.. The great wall looks like its gonna collapse under the weight of the tourists!
Throngs of them!
Its not unusual to find monkey gods wannabe on this magnificiant structure
Some people can pay the visitor fee to come and sit and block the passageways.
I tell u uncle and aunties can do better at such a steep climb
Tired, she stopped, sat and smiled
The walls
barefooted
Thats where we aimed to conquer!
Rewarded at the top with the chilly winds and wonderful view!
more scribblings
I'm telling you I took this shot standing upright, so you can picture how steep it is
wont be nice if you fall off
